My name is Jon and I live in Los Angeles. I've visited Japan a lot so that's what this blog is about...visiting Japan, Japanese history and samurai movies.
Daibutsu, Kamakura
Daibutsu in Kamakura, June 2010. There were thousands of school kids visiting that day. It was still great fun.

Daibutsu Crowds
The last time I visited the Giant Buddha (Daibutsu) in Kamakura, there were ten thousand school kids there that day which I think is actually pretty common. It was still very fun and I hope to return someday.
The crowds don't look to bad in these photos. It was a complete zoo on the narrow street leading up to the Daibutsu. It was hard for me because I was carrying a 2 year old.
Kamakura is one of those places that has been on my to-do list for ages.
ReplyDeleteThat's a crowd there! o.O
ReplyDeleteThis is one place I need to visit soon. :)

ReplyDeleteI like enter the Daibutsu. The inside is very dark and narrow. If you carried a 2 year son, it may be hard to climb.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I did not go inside Daibutsu this trip because I had the two small boys with me.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was 10-year-old boy, I was one of ten thousand kids visiting there for the school trip! I love to visit once again someday:)
ReplyDeleteLooks amazing and a place that I would love to visit on my next trip!!
