Daibutsu, Kamakura
Daibutsu in Kamakura, June 2010. There were thousands of school kids visiting that day. It was still great fun.
The ones I've seen in busy intersections in Matsuyama say "Keep the city looking spotless." Which is hardly unusual. Very rarely have I seen trash littering a street in Japan.

ReplyDeleteThat's a good idea. Cities should sell manhole covers to businesses to advertise on for a fee.
