i wish I could see a skinny skyscraper IN Japan too -_-
ReplyDeleteThese things are so crazy. It's usually on land that's been held for a long time and one neighbour wouldn't sell out to another to build something decent.
ReplyDeleteIn more developed areas the government will step in and forcibly acquire the land so that proper high rise buildings can be built.
In the US, communities have used "Eminent Domain" in order to confiscate land for developments. Or usually land owners almost always sell for some amount of money.
