Patient Dog in Japan

Look at this patient dog waiting at the front door of a home in Otawara, Tochigi-ken.

Look closer at the dog. It is actually a statue. I had to take a second look when I walked by the first time. :)

  3. Probably someone's sense of humor played out. In this area that would classify as "lawn kitsch" thought technically, it is not on a lawn but a porch. Still, the definition would apply. I call lawn kitsch anything in a yard that is not a plant or stone object. Anything that is decorative and not functional like a plant, flagstone, border or structure. Something that is placed for interest and not organic.
