My name is Jon and I live in Los Angeles. I've visited Japan a lot so that's what this blog is about...visiting Japan, Japanese history and samurai movies.
Daibutsu, Kamakura
Daibutsu in Kamakura, June 2010. There were thousands of school kids visiting that day. It was still great fun.

Witness. Disaster in Japan (2011)
WOW. Just wow. Amazing, shocking and sad documentary produced by National Geographic. Forty-five minutes of unbelievable earthquake and tsunami footage.
Yes, I heard scientists were amazed from the tsunami footage from the helicopter near Sendai of the water going over the farmlands. Sounds like they may be able to learn a lot about how a tsunami wave behaves and moves etc.
So many camera caught what was happening I hope some good research will come out of this.
