Daibutsu, Kamakura
Daibutsu in Kamakura, June 2010. There were thousands of school kids visiting that day. It was still great fun.

This is cool

This couple won a contest to have a samurai wedding at a castle. The groom played the part of a feudal lord. The castle is Matsue castle (chidori-jo) in Shimane prefecture. I would have loved to have a wedding ceremony like this but I don't think my wife would have approved.

  2. THAT is awesome! What a production! The amount of effort that went into that was pretty impressive.... They won't be forgetting that any time soon....

-I would have grown my hair out and shaved my pallet for real!

  4. Perfect for me. All I need is some "Owari no utsuke" clothing and I am set. When I get hitched, it is either, Gifu Castle Park, Inaba Shrine (Gifu), or Atsuta Shrine (Nagoya).
