Abandoned Road to Nowhere

I found these cool Haikyo abandoned places pictures from this website. These are some pretty impressive pictures of an abandoned elevated roadway somewhere in Japan. If you know where, let me know.

I wonder if the roadway collapsed due to an earthquake, neglect or some other reason. Pretty bizarre to see this collapsed roadway just sitting there abandoned.

I wonder what would have made this section collapse?

The way this section is twisted it doesn't look like it will take too much more to bring it down such as a moderate earthquake or minor soil movement.

  1. I'm not sure where it is, but I have read about this in the book, Dogs and Demons. Just more wasteful government spending. Maybe this is where people's pension money is going.

  2. Thanks Thomas. Yeah, I am not surprised that it was some wasteful project. The construction industry and bureaucrats have worked together to waste trillions.

  3. If the government likes to spend money building wasteful unecesary projects like this, then why not also spend the money to remove them when they are abandoned?

  5. Yes, I think eerie is a good word for a lot of the abandoned places in Japan.
